Burtee

Burtee is a Nigerian international recording and performing artiste with cravings for a new style of naija music. Though in his own words, he’s described his genre of music as a world fusion with strong afro beat influence.

He has performed both locally and internationally, but is currently focusing on his debut album which is yet to be released. He has a video for the track ‘Popularly Known’ which is enjoying massive airplay and has also guest starred in some musical videos shot in the United Kingdom where he currently resides.

The name Burtee was adopted from the numerous nickname which Adedire Gisanrin had, and the choice of name was because it sounded artistic as well as generally acceptable in the Naija context. Burtee means a Posh or Polished person in the Nigerian slang vocabulary.

Burtee started music at an early age when he first held the microphone at the age of four in his school choir and has never looked back since. He decided to take it professionally about 3 years ago, Popularly Known which was his first radio release hit the airwaves  and several songs have been recorded since then, having worked with several music producers in Nigeria and abroad. The yet to be titled forthcoming album has songs of groovy feel as well as different genres on it.
